The start of construction of one of Europe’s largest urban development projects was recently celebrated with the laying of the foundation stone: Siemensstadt Square in Berlin. By 2035, around 35,000 people will be living, working, learning and researching as well as testing and producing the technologies of tomorrow on over 1 million square metres of floor space.
We were there for this historic moment and planned and realised the technical part for Siemens as a full production. This included the main stage and forestage as a Layherdeck, ground support for the rest of the event technology – including lighting, sound and media technology – and a total of 27,000 kg of material (excluding 10 tonnes of ballast for the stage). In 2.5 days, we turned the construction site into a press-ready event location.
