The motto of the world premiere of the new Škoda Kodiaq “Discover a new kind of space” did not only refer to Škoda’s new model. The location of its premiere presentation was also a “new kind of space”. And it represented a premiere of sorts for us as well. For the first time, we produced an event in “The Tunnel” – a decommissioned Berlin underground tunnel underneath Potsdamer Platz. The logistics here were particularly challenging. All of the technical equipment had to be transported by electric winch – down the stairs of the underground entrance at Potsdamer Platz and then back up again. But, as usual, our crew handled this superbly!
In just 6 days, the underground area was transformed into a prestigious release location: First, 200 individual drilling points for rigging were measured and drilled (by the location operator) in the 300-metre-long underground tunnel using our TRIMBLE RI system. This was followed by the implementation of the rigging segments in the tunnel and almost 600 metres of Powerlock for the power supply. After that, the appropriate sound, lighting and media technology was put into place for the tunnel location, as well as for the studio and reception area for the guests. This included 20 displays and a projection on a roller screen system, the camera technology including a rail camera and a Disguise media server in the media control room at the end of the tunnel.
